Project Overview
This is an Independent project where the requirement is to create a game that based on energy concept. In this game I choose to use the kinetic and thermal energy as my main concept and make it a local multiplayer game just to see my classmates enjoy killing each other.
The 3 main pillars of this project is to keep the movement and action simple, to make it more fun when more player join in and lastly to make player feel the heat and kinetic in the game.
Challenges
There is one big obstacle in this project that is I haven't create or design any multi player games.
Solutions
I have done lots of research on how to make multi controller game in unity. Also research on many local multiplayer game about how they handle camera and how they make player interact with each other.
What have I learned?
- How camera handling are important for games. For non FPS game camera angle and how to move them are lethal that it can control what to be presented and what is not, without proper camera handling can lead straight to player's frustration.
- Players interaction in multiplayer game. What make multiplayer game fun is player interaction, but it needed to be in right amount. So during this project I have learned how to make player interact in way that is not annoying.
- Feedback and Juice up. According to requirement I have to make my game based on energy, so I choose to make the player feel part of it through the feedback to support the believe.
